Richard Dawkins' New Book Out Tomorrow

Anyone that knows me well will know I'm a huge admirer of British evolutionary biologist and popular science author Richard Dawkins. Dawkins is best known for his strong anti-religious views, and for being the the World's most vocal and convincing proponent of science and evolution. To the point where he systematically debunks the very notion of a God in his superb book "The God Delusion".

Once you start reading his arguments, or watching his scathing documentaries deconstructing the World's big religions, I don't know how anyone intelligent could not admire his incredible mind, his  articulate and uncompromising attacks on religion, and his persuasive arguments for moving into an enlightened atheistic "age of reason", where the Human race is able to do away with any belief in the supernatural whatsoever.

With intelligent parents and a love of science fiction, I was sold on athesim and science as the only truths from a young age, but with 86% of the Earth's population still believing in a supernatural omnipotent Creator or religious teachings of some kind, we certainly have a long way to go as a species before we can leave our irrational childish stories behind us.

Even if you're someone with a sound scientific mind, that has sensibly arrived at atheism or agnosticism, you could still gain a lot by checking out Dawkins' highly entertaining lectures and documentaries (some of which can be found online on The official Richard Dawkins YouTube Channel) or by reading one of his brilliant books.

Dawkins' new book, entitled "The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence For Evolution" is released in Australia and the UK tomorrow, and on September 22nd in the US. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
